Oh goodness gracious! I have so missed you all!! I want to share what’s been up with me – and as always – I want to hear from you!! Drop me a note and fill me in about your life and what’s what and who’s who. Let’s connect! You are important to me. I want you to know that. :)

So, since I have been back from my trip to California in November, a lot, lot, lot has been happening. I have grabbed the challenge to step into my greatness with both hands and I’m running with it!! And, since there is so much to share – I am going to break this into a multi-part post… so check in regularly because I will be sharing lots more about my journey.

For now – let’s start with my health and how I have changed my diet…

I have completely changed my eating routine and diet to match this: http://www.phoenixhelix.com/2013/01/18/comparison-of-3-healing-diets/ – specifically, the Wahls and Paleo diet. (Check out the link to see why). No, it hasn’t been easy – but I can tell you that I feel great!! I was brushing my teeth this morning and I noted that I was able to keep the toothbrush in my mouth – as opposed to my hand tremors (due to my MS) causing me to overcompensate and miss my mouth completely and brush my cheeks or chin a few times before my teeth. Hilarious to watch – but, aggravating nonetheless.

It took me a minute to get back into the swing of things after the holiday – but now that I have – I am concluding that it is working! I have chosen not to partake in pharmaceutical medication to control or manage my MS symptoms because I fully believe that food is medicine. When we eat foods that our body needs to heal itself and thrive – our body responds in kind.

Oh, and as an extra bonus – I have lost upwards of 60lbs since April of 2013 (around the time I began implementing this diet – and incorporating minor exercise as well).

So – WOOHOO!!! I will keep you posted on my results because as always – I LOVE to inspire you. I still and always want someone to look at me and say – ‘Because of you – I didn’t give up today!’

WE MADE IT!!! 100%!!!!!!

I am having a really great time right now in Big Bear, California with my brother and I will be flying into San Francisco tomorrow. I will be staying over until Saturday – and then a bus will pick me up in the morning a take me to Clearlake Oaks, California (about 3 hours North of San Francisco) for Women’s Leadership. I am so excited!!!

I want to thank each and every one of you that have supported me on this epic journey – financially, spiritually, emotionally or in whatever way you could. My campaign goal has been met – and actually has been exceeded financially by a couple of dollars! You have filled me with joy, tears of gratitude, thankfulness and overflowing love! The way that you stood up and gave of yourselves to me will be cherished forever. Thank you so incredibly much!

I don’t even know where to begin to express to you how much everything you have done means to me. I will start with a thank you – and send as many blessings as possible your way.

Thank you so much!!!

WE MADE IT TO 100%!!!!!!!!!

Thank you!

What has two thumbs and is jumping around like a chicken with it’s head cut off right now? THIS GIRL!!! {{{Points thumbs at herself}}}

I’m packing bags, sorting clothes, giving instructions to my son, petting dogs, checking and re-checking lists, browsing Facebook (because packing stinks – but going is great), and listening to the TV – all at the same time. Yes, I’m getting-r-done! LOL!

I will be leaving on a jet plane tomorrow at 2:15pm – heading toward California, with a couple of layovers mixed in. You all thought me blowing up your Facebook feeds with my GoFundMe campaign was bad – wait until I have photos to share!! Ha, ha!

Really though – thank you for not calling the Facebook police on me and even more – thank you for supporting me the way you have. This adventure has been the most fantastic journey – and I’m not even in California yet!!! To see you all come together and rally to support me – I seriously applaud you. In my lifetime (which has been pretty short, thank you very much! Ha, ha! No age jokes!) I have never been the recipient of so much goodwill and generosity. I have definitely had spurts here and there – but something so epically huge as this – never. It really has warmed my heart so much and each of you have definitely made a lasting impression on me. Thank you so incredibly much. Each of you own a special piece of my heart. <3

Last ditch effort…

Thank you all sooooo incredibly much!! Your support, donations, encouragement have been monumental to this becoming a reality for me. I have been wowed by you guys – and have been brought to happy, thankful tears so many times over the past 2 and 1/2 months. I am so grateful to you all for everything and I just can’t tell each of you that enough.

Today and tomorrow will be my ‘LAST DITCH EFFORTS’ to make it to 100% of my goal. Currently, I stand at 83.81% and have less than $1,133 to go.

I am going to ask you right out – can you please make a donation? 100% is just right around the corner. I know that we can make this happen.

Thank you again and again – bunches and bunches!!! :)

Finish line…

Woah! Thanks to some really wonderful supporter donations received over the last couple of days – my campaign is now less than $1,233 from my goal!! Holy snicker’s! I LOVE YOU GUYS!!!!!!!!!!!! BIG X’s and O’s to you ALL for really showing up and making my dream a reality. I can’t even begin to tell you all how much I appreciate everything that you have done for me.

As it still stands, my campaign is less than 18% from my goal… we have successfully made it to 82.39%!!! I am just as flabbergasted as you all are, I am sure!!

Can you all please help me make it to 100%? We have come this far – and, I can see the finish line! Finally! So, what do you say? Let’s make this happen!!!

What it means to me…

3 days and a wake-up and I’ll be on a plane headed toward California to attend Women’s Leadership Seminar!

If you all are wondering what exactly this course is, here is the description that I snagged off the PSI Strategies for Life Success website:

“The purpose of Women’s Leadership is to create leaders, empowered by their wholeness as women, and committed to living their vision by actively contributing to the world.”

What principles would you stake your life on? Do you have the courage to live by those principles? Whether you’re a Fortune 500 executive shattering the “glass ceiling”, a mid-level manager, a young woman starting a career, a stay-at-home mom, or a student, Women’s Leadership will challenge you.

For nine days, you will have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to discover who you really are and uncover your true greatness. You will learn what it takes to be empowered, and what may be stopping you from becoming the woman you truly want to be. You will learn the depths of strength, passion and the massive abilities you have at your disposal at all times.

You will learn what it takes to achieve more balance in your life and become a fully empowered woman capable of greatness at any moment. By establishing your true vision – for yourself and your world – you will learn to celebrate your femininity in its entirety and come into balance with those around you. You will walk away from these incredible nine days grounded in knowing your true capabilities and potential. Along the way, you will be connected to a community of powerful female leaders that redefines the meaning of support, cooperation, success and sisterhood.

Not even that description can adequately describe what exactly this course means to me. Here is what it means to me… It means finding the strong, confident women that I have inside of me and knowing that even through adversity – I can and will do and become what I strive for. It means not settling for mediocrity and it means giving back to society – even though my disability tries to limit my potential.

I could tell you a thousand different things about how great this trip is going to be and what it is going to mean to me – but, it doesn’t mean anything if I come back – and I don’t walk the talk. It is just a bunch of pomp and circumstance if I choose not to put action behind my words… but, here’s the real kicker… I don’t intend to just talk the talk – I am committed to walking the walk too. I know there are no guarantee’s in life – so you will just have to wait and see.

Wow, seriously guys – this is really happening and I am so, so, so excited! I am sure you can all hear the enthusiasm in my writing – and just know, it is very real. If you are led to support my dream, please, please do so. I am less than $1,409 away from my big goal. $5, $10 or $20 will push me up another percentage. I am only 21% away from my goal – 21%!!! That is super close and I have no doubts that it can happen in 3 days – with your help. Please send your donation today.

Thank you a million, trillion – GAZILLION!!! :)

6 days left!!!

Man – I feel like I have been running a marathon or something! Ha, ha! Well, I guess I kind of have! I’m 79.53% of the way to the finish line – and could really use a boost to get me the rest of the way.

After yesterday and today’s donations, my campaign stands at less than $1,500 away from my goal.

Please, I urge you, if you have not made a donation as of yet – your contribution would really, really mean a lot to me. It is my fullest intention to reach my goal by the time I leave on October 29th. Please help me get there.

Thank you again!! Have a happy and blessed Wednesday friends.

Tenacity and drive…

The countdown is ON!! As of today – I have only 7 days left to reach my goal.

On August 5, 2013 (2 1/2 months ago), my MS Warrior campaign was at 0 (zero), and now look at where it is – $5,157!! It stands at 73.67% of my overall goal! Wow!!! That is just HUGE! If I weren’t looking at it with my own two eyes, I wouldn’t believe it. :)

I want to share with you all a very special note from a friend that gave a donation this morning:

“You’re enthusiasm and joy is contagious! Your faith and facing MS head on is powerful! I know you’ll make your goal!”

She really hit the nail on the head – and this is what I want all of you to realize, if you hadn’t yet. (LOL – I am pretty jolly and positive most days!) I really want you all to know WHY this trip is so important to me.

I have come to know a lot, lot, lot about myself through this campaign; the most important thing being – I am original. I am unique. We all are – but not everybody knows what makes them original and unique… that thing that makes them special. I have stumbled upon it through this journey, and yes – I am exploiting it, because I have so much to give that it would not be fair to keep it all to myself.

I AM very enthusiastic and joyful; I AM strong and tenacious; I AM somebody that has the ability to see the sun through the stormy clouds, and I intend to share this with others – disabled and healthy alike when I come back from this trip.

As I sit here writing this – I am aware of my disability because my right eye is strained and I feel fatigued a bit from a 3 mile walk that I just returned from. The mailman was just here and I had to sign for a package – and my signature was more like that of kindergartener than an adult, but still, I am determined that these things will not interfere with my ability to do what I want to do. I will not allow this illness to prohibit me from having the quality of life that I intend to have – and this, I know, is what makes me unique.

If I could bottle this… thing… this tenacity, drive, enthusiasm and positivity up and give it to others – I would in a heartbeat… but I know that this is just not possible. There is nothing magical that I can bottle up and give to others – but one, by one – I can touch peoples lives and share a bit of myself. I can show them my walk and hope that they will follow.

So, that’s it in a nutshell. That is why achieving this goal has and is so important to me.

That wonderful friend, who shared such nice words with me earlier today – also contributed $50 to my campaign, bringing it to less than $1,850 away from my goal.

As I said, one by one – little by little, this will happen. Please show your support today by clicking on the link provided and submitting your donation.

Thank you so much!

MS and Football

I have been a little out of touch as of late. As you can see – the MS Warrior campaign is now at 72.24% of our goal!! WOWOWOWOWOWOW! Did I say – WOW?!

A little over 2 months ago, this fundraiser was at $0 and now it is at $5,057.00! I am just astonished… stupified… buzzing with joy… and so eternally grateful! I cannot begin to tell you how extremely grateful I am!!

It is almost surreal that I am going to be leaving for California in only 13 days, and my goal of raising $7,000 is almost a reality.

Little by little – I will make it – with your help.

Here is a visual for all of you football fanatics… I am at the 40 yard line, with 2 minutes on the clock. The quarterback launches the ball down to a receiver at the 30… he catches it and is immediately tackled. That’s okay though because it was a good catch and his team is closer to the end zone!! So, the offense lines up quick to do it all over again.

Guess what? YOU are the quarterback and I am the receiver. I will always be in the pocket and I will always catch the ball. And, when I am knocked on my butt – as I frequently am – I will always get back up and do it all over again and before you know it – I will be spiking the ball because YOU just threw it into the end zone – and I caught it! TOUCH DOWN!

By the way – yes, I like football… and hunting… and fishing… and wearing dresses… and makeup… and jewelry too – not necessarily all at the same time though. LOL!

I want to be a genie in a bottle…

geniebottleIt is hard to believe that this all began just 2 very short months ago. I… actually, I will say – WE have raised $2,887.00 IN JUST 2 MONTHS! I am seriously, seriously overjoyed!! I wouldn’t believe it if it weren’t staring me in the face right now.

How many ways can I say, “Thank you”? I know that there are about a million in different languages – but saying “Thank you” to you in each of those languages still wouldn’t do justice to how I wish each of you felt about your gifts to me. I wish that I could take the warm, fuzzy feeling that I have hugging my heart right now and give it to each and every one of you. Honestly – I don’t even think THAT would be enough.

If I could, I would travel to your homes and grant each of you endless wishes. I would be your genie for a day!! :) Hee, hee! Then maybe I could do for you the special thing that you have done for me. Well, actually – only if you wished to be filled with love, gratitude, thankfulness, hope, courage, strength and confidence. If you asked me to grant that wish for you – I could give you just exactly what you have given me. :)

Okay – I have accomplished a lot in a short amount of time, so becoming a genie should be no problem. Starting tonight – I’m working on it. Once it happens – expect a knock on your door. You know what to do – just rub the lamp and I’ll be there!
